Preparing refugees for work and life in England

Delivered on behalf of the Home Office, the Refugee Employability Programme (REP) helped over 2,500 people build a life in England — with support and a learning plan to improve their English and career skills.

Although REP has now ended, you can still get help from the organisations below.

Support available to you

You can access employment support from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Job Centre Plus Work Coaches. This includes benefits, employment programmes and access to the National Employer and Partnership team (NEPT) for work opportunities.

Newly recognised asylum route refugees

You can receive support from Migrant Help, with advice on how to access Universal Credit and working in England

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) support

We deliver Skills programmes in London and Birmingham for people who are unemployed and looking for work.

You can refer yourself or be referred via Local Authorities or JCP Work Coaches as part of the Skills for Life programme.
